"When you name a magazine, it's like naming your baby. You can't decide and no name seems to be right, and yet when you do name the baby, it kind of grows into the name. Like, I'm a Harvey: To my family I look like a Harvey and talk like a Harvey. And it's very comfortable. But I could've been an Irving. I don't feel like an Irving. Harvey sounds right."

-Harvey Kurtzman, The Comics Journal, 1982

"When Hugh Hefner started Playboy, he had another name in mind for it: Stag Party. Can you imagine Stag Party? Well, somebody brought legal suit against Hefner claiming they owned the title Stag Party, and rather than go to court, he chose an alternative. He had a stag all ready with the horns and everything, and he took the horns off and made them into rabbits. Now can you imagine anything else but Playboy on the cover of Playboy? You can't."
-Harvey Kurtzman, The Comics Journal, 1982
